GTA VI releasing in End of 2025, GTA 5 hits 200 million copies sales all time

GTA 6 Set for Fall 2025 Release as GTA V Surpasses 200 Million Sales

The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is officially scheduled to launch in Fall 2025, according to Take-Two Interactive’s latest earnings report. Meanwhile, GTA V continues its record-breaking success, surpassing 200 million copies sold worldwide.

GTA 6 Release Window Narrowed to Fall 2025
During Take-Two Interactive’s Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6’s release has been narrowed down from a broad “Calendar 2025” window to Fall 2025. This aligns with earlier industry expectations, placing the next installment’s launch in late 2025.

When questioned about the company’s confidence in the release timeline, Zelnick responded, “We feel really great about that release date and title.” He also mentioned that Rockstar Games will reveal more details in the “fullness of time,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting further updates.

Take-Two’s report expressed strong optimism about the game’s potential:

“We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to rise. We believe our company is on track to reach new heights of success.”

GTA V Sales Exceed 200 Million Copies
Despite its 2013 debut, Grand Theft Auto V remains a sales juggernaut. Recent figures show the game has now sold over 200 million copies, up from 195 million reported earlier this year. On average, the title sells around 5 million copies per month, demonstrating its lasting appeal.

Additionally, the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise has surpassed 425 million copies sold, marking a 5 million increase in just three months.

GTA Online Continues to Grow
Even after a decade, GTA Online shows no signs of slowing down. Take-Two revealed a 35% year-on-year increase in player numbers for GTA V, with GTA Online experiencing a 23% surge in active users.

However, the company warned investors to expect a decline in GTA Online’s earnings as the franchise shifts focus toward GTA 6. Given the game’s 11-year lifespan, this transition comes as no surprise, especially with a new installment on the horizon.
